Orthokeratologist.org, the world’s first dedicated community for orthokeratologists, has launched today with a global call out to all orthokeratologists to step forward and be counted for the first time by officially registering on the global database.

Set up by two passionate orthokeratologists and long-term friends, Jaimin Patel and Deven Lakhani, the platform has everything orthokeratology-related under one, independent roof – articles, research, CPD, suppliers, forums, “The Orthkars | Golden Eyeball” Awards, patient growth and clinical support, reviews, events, training and advice guides. A comprehensive resource to assist current orthokeratologists to improve and help those who are starting out. Built for orthokeratologists, by orthokeratologists.

Co-Founder of Orthokeratologist.org Jaimin Patel says:

“It’s incredible that despite orthokeratology being around for decades - it being the 4th mainstream eyecare option (glasses, day lenses, ortho-k night lenses and laser) and the world being full of proud orthokeratologists like me and Deven – that there is still no dedicated global community and limited local support. Additionally, there is no consensus on how many orthokeratologists there are in each country and what help they need. We plan to fix that.

That’s why we’re asking all the global optical press, the industry bodies and the manufacturers to join our ‘call out’ to find every orthokeratologist in the world in October 2026. Ask them to come to our site where they can register for free and complete a survey to tell us who they are, where they are, what they do and what resources they need to improve the service they offer patients. To put them on the world map. To proudly stand with Deven and I and say “I am an orthokeratologist.”

Co-Founder of Orthokeratologist.org Deven Lakhani says:

“If you are a dentist and you qualify in orthodontics, you are globally known as an orthodontist. So why aren’t eye care professionals who qualify in orthokeratology known as orthokeratologists? It is simply because nobody has brought us all together yet. We plan to work with the optical bodies around the world to do just that.

We’re passionate about ortho-k and how it changes patients’ lives. We’d like to help more orthokeratologists enter the industry and assist those currently fitting ortho-k lenses to improve, grow patient numbers, and work as a global community to take the industry forward in a way that works for everyone. Some say orthokeratologists are the rockstars of optometry. We agree, and we plan to give them a place to shine!”
