We had the opportunity to share the impact we were creating across India through vision screenings and the provision of quality eyeglasses, and how these efforts were contributing to improved road safety outcomes across the country.

The Hon’ble Minister appreciated our work and expressed his support, acknowledging that our efforts play a vital role in addressing this critical issue and in supporting the Government of India’s mission of making roads safer for all.

During the meeting, the VisionSpring Foundation delegation Anshu Taneja, Rajan Kumar, and Vasundhra Joshi, shared the organisation’s work in expanding access to quality eyeglasses for underserved adults and children across India.

With India’s rapidly expanding road and mobility infrastructure, ensuring that commercial drivers, transport workers, and road users have clear vision to detect hazards, read road signs, and respond swiftly to changing conditions is fundamental to road safety. VisionSpring Foundation highlighted the importance of integrating eye health within the broader road safety framework, including strengthening vision screening for drivers and improving access to corrective eyeglasses.

We were grateful for Shri Nitin Gadkari’s encouragement and for assuring his support in advancing this agenda and exploring pathways to bring vision screening to key transport ecosystems such as RTOs, toll plazas, transport hubs, and others.

At VisionSpring Foundation, we believe that clear vision is essential for safer roads, stronger livelihoods, and a more inclusive mobility system.

We look forward to continuing this dialogue and working with stakeholders across government and industry to ensure that millions of drivers and road users across India can benefit from the power of clear vision.

Clear vision. Safe journey.
