The modern screen-dominated era subjects our eyes to constant strain, making traditional single vision lenses insufficient for daily digital life. Essilor's Eyezen lenses address this challenge by offering a complete vision solution that integrates correction, protection, and relaxation. We spoke with Fahim Mohamed, Partner at Lens & Frames – Kochi, to learn how his team successfully guides connected consumers to the ideal Eyezen lens for their lifestyle.

Q1. Why Essilor Eyezen lenses instead of standard single vision lenses?

A1. A standard single vision lens only provides vision correction. But in today's lifestyle, just vision correction is not enough. With us being so digitally connected, we need just more than a vision correction. We believe we require correction, protection and relaxation. We believe Eyezen is the only lens with all these benefits and that is why we recommend Eyezen to our customers.

Q2. How do you know who to recommend Eyezen Start to and who to recommend Eyezen Boost to the end consumer?

A2. First, we try to understand the profile of the customer. We try to understand his lifestyle, habit and his digital screen usage. Based on it, we decide the product. Eyezen Start is typically for a younger audience, about 12 years of age. Could be students, young working professionals. This group may or may not have eye strain. The well-optimized design of Eyezen Start would benefit the younger audience to use these digital devices. Eyezen Boost is generally recommended for an older age group for 18 years and above. People who spend more than 6 hours in a day in front of screens, mostly IT professionals, radiologists, bankers, gamers. Enhanced power distribution technology in Eyezen Boost provides extra support for eye focus effort.

Q3. What kind of training programs and assets do you use while explaining the product to end consumer?

A3. During refraction, we gather history of the customer, their lifestyle, digital screen usage and visual needs. The needs of the customer is first understood during refraction. Once the prescription is generated, the customer would be guided by our sales team through frame selection, lens recommendation based on the information collected during refraction. In case of single vision, a suitable Eyezen lens would be recommended as potential solution for eye strain. For internal training, we utilize Leonardo platform. We use our price list as well as the Eyezen tabletop. If still they are not convinced, we talk about the Eyezen 30-day challenge.
