India Vision Institute (IVI), in partnership with KONE Elevators India, today inaugurated a state-of-the-art Vision Centre at Gorakshabasi Road, Nagerbazar, under Dumdum Municipality in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.

The Vision Centre launch was presided over by Smt Moly Chowdhury, Councillor, South Dumdum Municipality (North 24 Parganas), in the presence of Vinod Daniel, CEO, India Vision Institute and Kone India’s YN Barot, Senior Regional General Manager, East. Others present included MP Saravanan, Director, People, Communications & CSR – Kone Elevators India; Samrat Mukherjee, General Manager, Kolkata; and Paul Rufus Davidson, Deputy Manager, CSR, among others.

The centre will provide quality, free and affordable eye care to underserved communities, including those from slum, fishing and weaving backgrounds, serving a
population of over 400,000 people.

Vinod Daniel said, “Vision Centres are critical in ensuring access to eye care for underprivileged people in both remote villages and cities. Our Vision Centre at
Nagerbazar sits at the heart of a large population and will bring primary eye care to those who need it most.”

“We thank KONE Elevators for making this possible. Their support helps us keep services close to home, so more adults can see clearly, work with confidence and
support their families. For schoolchildren, timely eye checks and corrective glasses mean they can see the board, keep up in class and look forward to a brighter future. Our partnership is grounded in community wellbeing and lasting impact,” added Mr Daniel.

The Vision Centre at Nagerbazar is equipped with advanced equipment, including a Slit Lamp, a Non-Contact Tonometer for measuring intraocular pressure, an Auto Refractometer with Keratometer for assessing visual power and corneal curvature and Fundus imaging for diabetic retinopathy screening.
