The India Australia Business & Community Alliance (IABCA) and India Vision Institute (IVI) have announced a new purpose-driven partnership to expand access to vision care for schoolchildren, women, and vulnerable communities across India.

As the official charity partner for the 2025 India Immersion Week (9–12 September), IVI will work alongside IABCA to highlight the importance of primary eye care and showcase its life-changing impact through targeted outreach during the delegation’s visit to Delhi and Mumbai.

Jodi McKay, a former NSW Cabinet Minister, Director, Australia-India CEO Forum - Business Council of Australia, and IVI's Global Ambassador, said "This partnership with IABCA strengthens IVI’s mission to make quality vision care accessible. It can deliver real social impact and transform lives."

Ms McKay also served on the Inaugural Advisory Board of the Australian Government’s Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR) and is a former National Chair of the Australia India Business Council (AIBC).

India Vision Institute CEO Vinod Daniel said, “Clear sight can change a life, For a child, it means the ability to learn and thrive in the classroom. For adults, it means productivity, dignity, and the ability to support their families. While we have reached over two million people through our screenings and interventions, an estimated 200 million Indians still lack something as simple as a pair of spectacles.”

Sonia Sadiq Gandhi, Founder & Director, IABCA, said “At IABCA, we are deeply committed to ensuring our work creates value not just for boardrooms, but for communities. Our partnership with India Vision Institute reflects this ethos — bringing hope, dignity, and opportunity to people who need it most through the gift of vision. Together, we are showing that bilateral ties can uplift lives in the most meaningful way.”

Mr Daniel, Chair of AusHeritage, is internationally recognised for his leadership in cultural heritage and community development. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the 2024 King’s Honours List and served on the Board of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) from 2016 to 2022..
