India Vision Institute (IVI), in partnership with Accor India, is transforming young lives by providing access to vision screenings to over 20,000 schoolchildren across Delhi Kolkata and Bengaluru. The initiative aims to tackle uncorrected refractive errors, a barrier to academic success, ensuring that children can learn, grow, and look forward to a good future with clear vision.

As part of IVI’s Eye See & I Learn program, 1,535 children diagnosed with refractive errors have received free corrective glasses, giving them the clarity they need to excel in their studies. Alongside screenings, students and teachers have been educated on basic eye care, early detection, and the importance of regular check-ups.

In Bengaluru today, schoolchildren at Government Girls High School, Anekal received free spectacles from Dr Marjorie O'Neill MP, Member of New South Wales Legislative Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport.

IVI's CEO Vinod Daniel, said "Every child deserves the gift of clear vision. Poor eyesight should not come in the way of education and personal growth. By addressing refractive errors, we are helping children unlock their full potential, ensuring they succeed in school and beyond."

"Studies show that children with good vision can earn up to 55.6% more in lifetime income. A child can learn twice as much if they had their vision corrected. Thank you, Accor India for the support to the program. Partnerships like these are crucial in ensuring that children have the best possible start in life," he said.

Dr O’Neill said, "I am delighted to be a part of IVI's spectacle distribution event in Bengaluru. I believe that every child deserves access to quality resources that help improve their development. By providing spectacles, we are not only improving their vision, but also opening up a world of possibilities for them."

India Vision Institute works to eliminate preventable vision impairment and advocate for better eye health across India. Through innovative programs and strong partnerships, IVI has provided access to vision screenings and provided corrective glasses to those in need. Over 1.6 million individuals across 24 states have benefited, bringing the gift of clear sight to those who need it most.
